TEDx Speaker
I was meant to be a speaker at the TEDx Cambridge Conference 2020 but due to the pandemic this has been postponed to early 2021. I will be speaking about the barriers to girls education around the world.
Global Shaper
I am part of the Global Shaper Community which is an initiative of the World Economic Forum. We form a network of young people driving dialogue, action and change in our respective hubs, mine being Cambridge.
RisingWISE
RisingWISE is an established Oxbridge network inspired by EnterpriseWISE: designed by women, for women and delivered entirely by women. It was a privilege to participate in the 2019 cohort of amazing and intelligent women and to be taught by world female experts in communication, entrepreneurship and mindfulness
LifeScience Symposium
I was one of the co-organisers of Hughes Hall’s first LifeScience Symposium, to highlight and showcase the academic excellence at our college. It was great to see the breadth of the research showcased and it was even greater to see that we had an equal gender representations among the participants.
European Public Health Week 2020
Together with 3 other fellow global shapers we set up a webinar addressing youth engagement in the face of COVID-19, in honour of the European Public Health Week 2020. We each presented out youth-led projects tackling the crisis in various fields. We then discussed youth empowerment and the role of youth in crisis management.
Women in STEM
I was humbled to be featured on the Cambridge University’s website as part of the special feature on Women in STEM.
Young Lecturer Competition
I was the first runner up at the Regional Young Lecturer’s Award organised by the IOM3 in 2018.
Global ChangeMaker
I was selected as the Mauritian Global Changemaker by the We Make Change organisation.
Vice Chancellor’s Social Impact Award
I was shortlisted as the 10 finalists for the Vice Chancellor’s Social Impact Award organised by the Cambridge Hub.
Oxford University Islamic Society Career Conference
As an OUISOC alumnus, I was invited to speak on a panel addressing effective altruism and how to apply any degree for the greater good, as part of a career path.
Launch of Project Access for Refugees
I had the pleasure of launching Project Access for Refugees at the annual conference for Project Access organised in London, with over 200 attendees.
House of Commons Conference
I was invited to attend a conference entitled “Empowering Marginalised Women Conference”, as part of a Pilgrim’s Trust-funded Women’s Project at the House of Commons in the UK Parliament.
Blog Published
With my friend Else, we wrote a blogpost highlighting the inhuman child slavery which is rampant in the cocoa industry and the chocolate production. Be wise when you choose your chocolate!
Global Health Seminar
I co-organised the first of a series of seminars under the banner of global health. We invited a Partner at McKinsey to lead the conversation on the role of business consultants in addressing the global health needs.
